The project will shed light on how agriculture and nature conservation can support each other, as well as encourage farmers in the North Atlantic region to participate in environmental projects. The project will form a network that allows participants to exchange knowledge and practices for sustainable agricultural operations, as well as local culture and traditional knowledge. Another aim is to make farmers aware of efforts to prevent climate change and promote greater biodiversity. The project is based on the EU High Nature Value Farmland in Europe project.
The project will strengthen the farmers’ position as land and nature managers. Knowledge-sharing is expected to create added value by introducing new ideas and opportunities, such as sustainable management and food production, that can benefit the local communities. The project will ensure that the available knowledge reaches all involved parties.
