Zero-emission boats and UNESCO parks

The project focuses on the vehicles used by firms serving visitors to the region’s UNESCO marine areas and encourages a transition to zero-emission boats as a way to make local transport more sustainable. In addition, the project will contribute to cooperation among national parks and geoparks as a way to make sure stakeholders and the industry are aware of each other’s expectations. This will benefit communities, the tourism industry, boat operators and boat builders in UNESCO areas—and the region as a whole. The project aims to develop a more sustainable and viable model for transporting people in UNESCO marine areas that can be modified for use elsewhere in the tourism industry.
