Three museums will build a network for collaborating on efforts to preserve traditional knowledge about crafts and the skills required to make them, and to pass these skills on to young people. The project will promote creation of local employment opportunities by facilitating up to two, one-year student employment positions / internships at each of the museums. The specific responsibilities will be based on the needs of the participating institutions and range from insulating old Viking houses to building new houses in a settlement that is expected to be established in Scotland. Participating in the project will prepare young people to work in tourism-related positions in the region.
